The Internet (version 2.0!)

If you frequent this blog you know I built the Internet just a few weeks ago (in an "IT Crowd" sort of way). While it received numerous positive comments, it was clear that upgrades were required. Behold....! The Internet version 2.0!!!!!!

Here is an exclusive photo shot during hardware development....

Here it is finished, in all of it's glory!

Version 2.0 now has start-up lights and sounds! All of this, powered by just (3) AA batteries?!??!?? Not only does it serve the world's needs, it is helping save the planet with its reduced power requirements.

Technical Specifications: Version 2.0 required the latest technology has to offer. Knowing this, I went straight to the Teensy 2.0 which I had solid, but limited experience with. I originally wanted version 2.0 to be capable of speech, but I soon realized that this hardware was designed for maximum data throughput, which was perfect for upgrading the Internet. Of course by now, you have yourself noticed significant improvements in download speeds, which this upgrade is responsible for.

If robots can do this....

...there is no limit to what they might accomplish. Robots will take over the world someday. Do you have robot insurance?

Pixelization attack!!! yeah, it could happen...

View HD full screen if you can....

WebFinger

Sometimes old ideas turn into really good new ideas... If you have been around the net a while you probably remember 'finger' and how it fizzled for security and obscurity reasons. Some people at Google are trying to revive and improve the concept. Sounds like a really good idea. You can read about it here.

Louisville Geek Dinner v0.7

If you live in the Louisville, KY area and don't already know (how could that be...?!?!?), the next installment of the Louisville Geek Dinner will be on August 24th. Ben Thomas runs the event (all around good guy & interesting geek to hang with). The people that attend are not all technology geeks. The crowd is diverse and includes a lot of interesting people to meet & converse with. Check it out at LouisvilleGeekDinner.com

Augmented Reality

This site is kinda hard to explain, but if you have a printer and a netcam, you gotta check this out...! All you do is download and print out a page on ordinary paper, click on the wind turbine or solar energy buttons, then hold the page up to your screen. It is hard to explain, but the page you are holding transforms into a 3D landscape that you can move around. Very cool....

Number Spirals

This site Shows how numbers written out in spiral form create interesting patterns, especially with prime numbers. I don't pretend to understand all of the math behind it, but I have always found prime numbers interesting. NumberSprial.com
